Dating While HIV Positive
No one needs to worry about their straight coworkers, concerned mothers, prying neighbours, or busybody pastors logging on and finding out something they are comfortable revealing only to potential dates and sex partners. I fear that this is going to start preventing people from posting their status and methods of protection against new HIV infections. Since many of us have become accustomed to meeting people online, those old awkward conversations will go by the wayside and gay men will be vulnerable to something worse than hacking and data mining.
But there are public spaces and then there are public spaces. How one would behave or what one would talk about in a gay bar is very different from how one behaves at church, in their office, or while grocery shopping. That is the biggest sting about this news.
Gay men thought that Grindr was a safe space, where we were free to be ourselves away from judging eyes. I started medication and got to a healthy place. Today, I have no fear of my HIV. The unity between those of us who share this disease is unbreakable.

We are activists and politicians, performers and artists, porn stars and proud sluts. My best sex came post-diagnosis, along with my best partners. To help you on your journey, here are six answers to your basic HIV questions, with six more to come in part two of this guide. I was 21 when I tested positive.
I was not confident in sex, and had only started exploring my newfound kinks. Suddenly I was branded with something I was deeply afraid of, something I had been afraid of for years. I assumed everyone else would be equally afraid of it. I assumed everyone would be afraid of me. Today, my sex life is better than it ever was before my diagnosis.
I use it as a litmus test to weed out unwanted partners: The standard practice in the United States is to get HIV positive people on medication as soon as possible. The sooner you start meds and take them diligently meaning every day , the sooner you will become undetectable. Until you are undetectable, you are infectious, which means you are able to transmit the virus.
As long as your sex partners know your HIV status and consent to have sex with you, you can have sex.

Global information and education on HIV and AIDS
Great book. One person found this helpful. In a recent visit to a clinic for a vaccine study I managed to discuss the state of treatment with the last of the three most well-known experts in HIV and Aids here in Austin, TX. In appraising the situation he said one third of his patients were older gentlemen who had been living with HIV and Aids for over 20 years, and who had experienced bad side effects, resistance, and serious health issues. He said the other thrid were younger and on medications, who have limited side effects and who have great success with the medicines.

He said the last third was newly diagnosed even younger men who currently show no viral load although testing as Positive for antibodies, and who are not yet on treatment This book would have been better if it addressed the second two thirds of the men my doctor mentioned - those living with HIV currently who do not fit the picture of devastation that the Right-dominated medical PR machine would rather talk about.
This book seems to focus on only men for whom HIV and Aids is an extremely difficult health challenge, and I found myself wondering what era it was written in? Though much of the intent and advice is great and very needed - it needs to be updated and brought into the current times. See both reviews. There's a problem loading this menu right now.
